Camping at Possum Kingdom State Park

We picked Sam up from school on Friday afternoon with our car packed and ready to camp. Three hours later we arrived in Caddo, TX at Possum Kingdom State Park campground. Since it was already dark, it made for an interesting tent raising:)

Sam and Sydney helped put in the stakes and we piled everything out of the car and into our tent.

Duke curled up in Sydney's sleeping bag with her and we attempted to go to sleep.

Duke had other ideas. He decided to visit each of us during the night and blessed us with his warmth and snoring. I think he must have sinus problems:)

As usual, Keith joined in the chorus and made for an interesting night wakefulness.

When the sun came up in the morning Duke greeted each of us with a good pounce and plenty of licks.

We needed our coffee, hot cocoa and pancakes to revive us.

Some of us pretending to be well-rested.

Fire was a big hit.

Duke's adorable stretching.

Keith and I went for a ride around the campground.

Then we rented a canoe and enjoyed the lake.

Duke watched until his turn.

We roasted hotdogs and smores on the fire. Sam lost her first marshmallow, but the second attempt

was a sucess!

What a fun weekend! Looks like a great cruise on the lake and fun time had by all despite the lack of sleep! (who sleeps when they camp anyway...I'm always too cold or too uncomfortable:)
