We left Texas at 3:00am on Sunday and arrived in Colorado around 6:00pm. I don't recommend doing this drive all in one day again:) Estes Park is a beautiful town and the YMCA is located right next to the Rocky Mountain National Park.
The view from our cabin was spectacular!!!
Keith and Sam next to our cabin:)
Sydney slept upstairs in this cool loft!
An amazing hike with two amazing people:)
This was our destination...Emerald Lake. We stopped here for lunch before heading back down the trail.
Basket weaving with Sam:)
Waiting to climb up the tree to start the high ropes course!
Sydney participated in day camp at YMCA while we were in Colorado. She had a lot of fun and was pretty tired by the afternoon:) Sydney went horseback riding, did the low ropes course, climbing wall and a day hike with 6-8th graders.
Flowers of the alpine tundra
Sam and Keith sitting by the river that runs through the town of Estes Park.
Duke loves his walks along the river:)
We left on Friday afternoon and drove to Selina, Kansas for the night. Then we drove the rest of the way home on Saturday(yesterday).
We were so thankful that the wildfires didn't affect Estes Park while we were there for the week. We could see the smoke from a long distance, but it was a least 20 miles away. Unfortunately on Saturday, another wildfire broke out near Estes Park and homes in that area have burned down.
